The humanitarian movement she founded in 2011, serving the less privileged, the physically challenged, and the elderly across Delta State, long before any ballot was cast in her name.
Care built before the cameras arrived
What began in 2011 with 60 volunteer medical and non-medical personnel has grown into a movement of over 500 dedicated volunteers. SHI opened its first clinic on the 14th of April 2012, and has since built an infrastructure of care across Ethiope West.
When devastating floods struck Delta State, SHI responded with urgency, establishing skill-acquisition centres for flood victims, distributing relief materials, and delivering healthcare to displaced communities.
An infrastructure of care
Free clinics
Three free clinics across Ethiope West, including a 24-hour women's clinic with 20 beds and a children's clinic. The Ugbenu clinic is equipped with ultrasound machines and laboratories.
SHI GPs (mobile doctors)
In a pioneering move, SHI trained doctors in the United Kingdom as Mobile General Practitioners who travel to underserved communities in Uvwie, Mosogar, Oghara, Ejeme-Aniogor, Ijomi and Oleh.
AMBUBIKES ambulance service
A free ambulance service across Ethiope West, ensuring no resident is left without emergency medical support because of distance or poverty.
Mobile & eye clinics
A network of mobile free clinics in Ugbenu, Jesse, and Ogharefe, plus free eye treatment across Ethiope West.
Flood response
Skill-acquisition centres for flood victims, relief materials, and healthcare delivered to displaced communities when the waters rose.
15,000+ lives touched
Collectively, SHI's clinics have treated over 15,000 people from both Edo and Delta States, care delivered with dignity and free of charge.
